hii have a 95 240sx base with VLSD and am swapping out the VSLD (good condition, for sale to reasonable offers btw) for an HLSD and the driver's side output shaft is not coming out of the carrier. i got the passenger side out with a wood wedge + slide hammer, but the drivers side has only moved less than a millimeter. i've tried, hammer, slide hammer, leverage, and more leverage.
since my pass. side shaft is out, can i hammer out the driver's side shaft from inside the diff?other than making a proper adapter for the slide hammer and trying it again, what are my options?
also, altho my subframe bushings are in good condition, i was looking at my options for stiffening them up without removing them fromt he car. aluminium anything is ruled out. as is anything that changes subframe height. so it looks like im left with either injecting 3m window weld, or getting the prothane poly inserts that go inside the bushings.
has anyone tried the window weld? if i inject it in, and tighten up the subframe bolts, how long does it really take to cure? how noisy is it? is it overkill for spirited/daily/autox use?has anyone tried the prothane poly inserts (as sold by pdm)? can they damage the existing bushings? noisy? how stiff?
thanks!
