I did a few searches and came up with next to nothing ... I've got a friend a couple hours south of me and he has 2 parts cars both are 300zx's ... He's hookin' me up with the z-brakes, 5-lugs, and LSD for my 240sx ... I was just wondering how much work is involved in removing the LSD as I am a newcomer to the automotive scene and am still learning, but know next to nothing about LSD's ... anyways I plan on being down there for ~3-4 days and need to know if I'll have time to remove all that and really just any advice/warning/help is much appreciated. thanks.

if you're changing the pumpkin it's not that bad. If you're changing the diff on the inside, you need to check a number of things which makes it a bit more trouble, but nothing amazingly bad.

4 bolts connecting the driveshaft to diff 5 or 6 bolts connecting each axle to the diff 4 big bolts holding the diff in place (6 if s13)its a pretty easy straightforward job.

If you mean swapping guts of the diff then I recomend getting a professional to do it.

well I'm taking the diff off the 300zx and going to be putting it on my 240sx (s13) ... does anyone know if the subframe or anything else off a 300zx would be an upgrade for a s13?

I believe z32 diffs might have 5 bolt output shafts for the axles and your car probably has 6 bolt axles in which case you will need axles but the z32 ones wont work they are too long. Im using pre 95 1/2 j30 axles (newer ones are 6 bolt) I think jdm 180sx axles work aswell. Or you can get vlsd output shafts that are six bolt and use your axles but that involves opening the diff

I think you already got all the essential parts from your original post
