I have a 350z 2004 Base coup. I have the button case for the lsd button but no button. How would I go about installing a button and would that follow with a possible new lsd? Also when I burn outonly 1 tire moves. I understand that with Rx-8s they have the button and my buddie can turn it of and burn out with both tires fine.

Only one tire spins because the base model 350Z has an open differential.

When you say button case are you talking about the area on the dash where the TCS/VDC button goes? Installing a button here isn't going to anything, it would be as useful as installing an intercooler with no turbocharger on your car.

Your best option for upgrading the open differential on the base model Z is to use the Quaife helical differential since it works fine with the open diff output shafts. Most of the conventional clutch type lsd's will only work with the OEM viscous output shafts.

And if you live in CT I'd advise installing the lsd and mounting some winter tires before snow season starts, or keeping it in the garage until the spring thaw.

I have a base model as well.

It's not really a button for the lsd to just "activate." It's always active (if equipped), the buttons are the vdc and tcs.

That sales pitch description made me feel so low

Ah, the feel of an open diff and lsd are day and night.

I think the infinity j30 came with a helical diff in a R200 short nose diff case. Will that one work in a base model 350Z? Will the stock 350Z gears bolt onto the J30 helical LSD so I can retain the stock ratio? I am thinking this should be nearly a bolt in but don't know for sure. What do you think?

No.

The R200V from the J30 (and Z32) is a viscous diff similar to the one in HICAS equipped 240's except with a different drive ratio (J30 is 3.92, 240SX is 4.08).

I don't think you can output 200% to the rear wheels.
