Its pretty rare, but I have seen 2 s14's that came from the factory with LSD and not ABS.

Raise rear wheels... spin one wheel forward, other should spin forward as well. Could also look for an orange viscous label sticker.

easiest way to tell if you have vlsd is to lift the car up (I know it's already said, but is the easiest way), spin on tire (with your hand, p.s. make sure the engine is off, and the e-brake is too)

If both tires spin the same direction, you have vlsd, if one spins the opposite direction of the other, it does NOT have vlsd.

I wouldn't count on the opposite rotation test. A VLSD is also designed so that during slip it will turn the opposite direction. The differnece is that the VLSD will not be as easy to turn in the opposite direction. And an open diff can still cause the opposite wheel in the same direction. The best way to check with the VLSD on the car is to put the car in gear or park(engine off) and then try and turn one of the rear wheels. The other wheel will turn the opposite direction. If it does this with ease, then it's an open diff. If there is a lot of resistance, it's a VLSD.
