Will a Nissan stock LSD from a 2004 model bolt up to a 2003 base model. Would you be wary of an LSD with 60,000 miles on it and what is the going price for one.

The VLSD will fit but it won't do you any good - the output shafts used on the base model Z are different than the ones on the models that have a VLSD so you would need those in addition to the VLSD.

I'd pass on installing a VLSD unless the costs were next to nothing, especially on one that had 60K miles.

I don't know what your end use of the car is, or what kind of money you're ok with spending but you should at least take a look at the Quaife HLSD. It's the most transparent of all available aftermarket LSDs, is low maintenance and it works with stock output shafts on the base model.

Thanks for the info. I saw an LSD on Craigslist and was curious if it would work. I may use the Z for a couple of track days in the future so that is why I was interested in a LSD. I have a Quaife diff with a 4.36 gear in my 1990 240sx that I run in ITA with SCCA. That is my Sebring Long Course rear end.

Badger, are you a Wisconsin fan. I will be going to the Champs Sport Bowl but will be rooting for Miami.

Nope, I'm a Hoosier.

I picked up the nick Badger when I was in the Army. I've mellowed a bit at in my old age but people knew when I wasn't in an approachable mood. One private from Montana said something like "Don't poke the Badger". The rest, as they say, is history.
