I have an 85 Z31 5spd... does anyone know if the viscous LSD R200 diff from a 92 240sx works in these cars? Searches show no info on this topic... if you know of one, a link would be great

My 240 is down with a blown HG and I have a non LSD diff I'd like to put a 1.5 way in (cheaper than putting one in a VLSD housing)... so I thought I'd hook up my Z if I could.

the r200 vlsd carrier can be installed in your z31's long nose housing but you have to use the ring and pinion gearset from the z31 or other long nose r200 housing, also you'll need the vlsd halfshafts found on the 88 300ZXSS (aka shiro, which came with the r200 vlsd) as well as the companion flanges at the stub axles, I'm not sure if the 240sx shafts and flanges will work but the viscous lsd uses different length output shafts which is why the shaft swap has to happen as well
