So, After testing if my car had a LSD or not it has left me stumped. I was hoping for a simple 2 marks and yay lsd but it flip flops more then Elton john's wrist..

PICS...

This one is on dry pavement and i just dumped the clutch and rode out 1st gear..

Now this one is brake standing from a puddle of water we poured down..

This one is dumping the clutch from some grass.

Again from the grass but at the other end.

So... Im lost at this point. Could it be VLSD and its just low on fluid?

Yeah, My old white one was an Open diff and i dont remember it leaving but one mark. Im guessing its not giving both wheels power at all times cause its low on fluid. I know for a fact my diff has a slow leak.

Get the leak checked out and then re do the burn out, you have an LSD. I use to just have one tire on fire, yours clearly has 2, i just don't know what happen there.

Quit doing burnouts and test it properly.

Jack up the back of the car, spin one wheel, and see which way the other wheel turns. Same direction? some sort of lsd (except helical); different direction? open diff.

Simple simple.

Not true, Sometimes the r200V will act like an open diff testing it like that. My friends did and i know for a fact he has VLSD.

My s14 has an open diff and it still spins both tires sometimes, especially in grass. Open diffs do spin both tires sometimes. but I agree with e1_griego, do it right, if turning the wheels doesn't satisfy you, then pull your diff and check it out first hand, then there's no question.

Put it up and turned the wheels.

When its in first they will spin in different directions.

When in N only one will will spin at a time.
