i know all the power is transfered to 1 wheel right now. Does this meen that 1 axle in the back, just sits there like the front wheels?

no, the power is split like that thru the open diff. but it's not a designated axle

it pushes power to the wheel with the least resistance, meaning, the wheel w/ the least amount of traction. if u wanna do an experiment, put some water on the ground...drive up w/ only 1 wheel in it...burnout, then drive some to dry your wheels and do the same w/ the other wheel...that one will spin now...

it's stupid really, but i think the idea is in an accidental oversteer situation, this transfer of power to only one wheel, will keep the more important wheel (outside wheel) from breaking loose, and it will help keep the car straight. so for a daily driver that dosent WANT to get sideways, or KNOW how to control the car, open diff is the safest

it should fit in the same cover, if not, it would be written everywhere on the packaging. All you really do, is take out the rear end, take apart the differential casing and swap the old with the new and reinstall it. (theres lots more stuff, but thats the basics)

it depends on they type...a clutch type has clutch plates in it, that work like the clutch in your transmission sort of...it locks at certaion loads, but sometimes it will not be locked...a torsen diff locks any time it gets torqued by the motor, certain locking diffs can be locked by a button...what else is there?

most of the time the LSD (kaaz, cusco, nismo etc. ) will fit inside the stock casing. if you look up any LSD in a catalog (heavythrottle etc) you'll see what it looks like
