Hello,

Im a new member here at nico and am also a member at other altima forums.

Today I just did a very rare modification for a 5 speed Altima se and im wondering if anyone here has had any experience with this.

I had an 04 maxima 6 speed limited slip installed on my 5 speed manual Altima. It was a painstaking process and the dealership gave me some grief. I will be testing out the new jwt clutch and lightweight flywheel also newly installed.

Just wondering if any altima members here have tried this?

Welcome to Nico

No, I have not tried this, nor even contemplated doing so. But good luck with it.

pita can't begin to explain what i've gone through with this install and after issues..

Still trying to diagnose why it wont shift correctly into 1st without double clutching or reverse without having to find another gear and back to reverse just to engage.

Painful and costly.. i've been at every board looking for advise.. barely anyone with a 5 speed has done exactly the same mod.

Yeah,

I spoke with the turbo'd canadian on the other board. He swapped his 5 speed for a max 6 speed with vlsd. Whereas i just had the lsd installed into my 5 speed.

Yeah,

on the various boards i have been tracking my experience for others..

Maybe when all is done it will be somewhat worth it assuming it get fixed without having to go back to my stock set up or swap transmission's

if you want when i do the swap since im puttin a new transmission in i could sell you mine for cheap only will have around 45000 miles on it. Then you can put the lsd in that since its the 6spd.
