well i bought some LS2 truck coilpacks and there was so much ****ty information on the internet about how the LS2 and LS1 coilpacks are triggered I figured I would just test it out and then do whatever i needed to do to make it work.

i just rigged up a test harness on my sr20 and the stock ECU ignition signal will fire the LS2 coilpack just fine and I have not adjusted the dwell settings on my enthalpy ECU yet. (but I will be adjusting it from 1.8ms to 5ms)

I went with the LS2 truck coilpacks because they are 120ma vs 40ma from the LS powered cars.

I will keep this thread updated as I progress with the conversion.

P.S. I am making a second set/harness (since I bought 8 coilpacks) so that will be for sale once I am done and all of my stock ignition pieces will be for sale as well.

I was going to say that 5ms sounds like a lot of dwell but I guess not. I'm going to have to look into these for my build.

5ms is the stock dwell setting for these, you can set it up to 6ms to get a hotter spark, but anything above that won't get you any gains at all. the max dwell setting is 8ms as after that point they fire on their own.

i am still working out how and where i am going to mount them. either on the front of the engine or where my cruise control motor stuff used to be.

front of the engine won't look as clean, but it will get me shorter spark plug wires.

Check out where Bill from Dent Sport put his. Made a bracket that essentially puts them over the Injectors. Looked pretty mean to me.
