LS1, whats better for reliability ?

V8 240sx? Sure! If either the chassis OR the engine is non-Nissan (i.e. SR20 in an RX-7 or LS1 in a 240sx), we've done it.

ok so im selling everything that was s13/turbo related to start building one of my dream cars. kouki ls1. but i can't decide whats more reliable at 400whp. after i sell my car i should have a bit of change laying around so i was thnking of getting forged parts for the ls1. they dont seem very expensive at all. like rods and pistons. but anyways, heres my questions. whats more reliable at 400whp?

-rebuilt ls1 block with higher compression pistons stock heads?-stock ls1 with intake headers exhaust and a tune? maybe ls6 heads ?cam maybe?-low mileage ls1 with a supercharger ?-stock ls1, oversize valves and cams

the third one is what my dad suggested, he told me they are stout motors and once i start messing with the interiors is dramatically shortens the life of the motor blah blah blah im old blah. so whats more reliable?

Anytime you're staying N/A with a stock engine the way it came from the manufacturer, you will have the most reliable setup for said engine.

In no way will adding a supercharger improve reliability.

Put in a stock LS1 w/ exhaust, intake, and maybe a nice intake manifold and you'll have plenty of power to keep you happy for at least a year. After you get all the bugs worked out and decide the route you want to go w/ the car, then decide on a heads/cam setup or cam only. It'll be more than enough power for a street car.

Yes, and with that mph, mid 11s should be possible with a better 60 foot.

I still have stock 806 casting heads, stock LS6 intake, ported stock Throttle body, an Underdrive crank pulley, carbon fiber driveshaft, Magic Stick 3 cam, and full exhaust....that's it.
