mine isnt no where near as nice as yours. all i have is lowered the rear, black gmc emblems 03 silverado taillights. aem brute force intake.. hid's. pretty much stock. only future plans are to paint the chrome grill shell black to match and some dvd screens. its my winter beater/camping rig. a good friend of mine also has one, s/c with all supporting mods. ran a 13.2 on 22's! with a hard bed cover. he has since threw a new cam in it, new trans/stall and got a new tune. love it because its fairly quick in stock form. funny beating my friends in their modded civics. lol

Thanks, I am not one that takes sides on imports or domestics. I am just a car guy that loves anything with wheels. I am into everything from rat rods to muscle cars, to imports and bikes. About the only thing I haven't built so far is a lifted 4X4 as it really doesn't do much for me. I can say this and I am sure this will draw some negative comments but when I owned my S2000 I absolutely loved that car except the lack of power and torque from the 4 cylinder. It was quick don't get me wrong and it would kill the rear tires if provoked but I wanted more. The V8 in the 240 was exactly what I was looking for. A great chassis, classic styling, and enough power and torque to roll up asphalt. And on top of all that I have reliability and good gas mileage. I have been very impressed with this car.

Way more than I wanted to LOL

Here is a rough estimate of where I am right now:

$9500 for the car with the swap done$2000 for the complete K's Aero new shipped$2000 for the wheels and tires$2000 for seat covers, headliner, carpet, installed$10,000 for paint, body, and replacement body parts$1000 for complete Z32 brakes with Z33 track rotors in front$2000 for exhaust, headers, radiator$1500 for coilovers$350 for Q45 diff, axles, hubs

I still have to decide on what motor I am going to put back in it as I think I have changed my mind on the LQ4. I am thinking LS3 now but not sure. I also still need to install a stereo system and I am sure some of the suspension components will get upgraded as well. So basically my money pit is still sucking down the $$$$

That includes a new hood, new quarter panel, all new weather stripping, and panel painting the whole car which takes longer. Also the additional body work required to swap the roofs which basically had to be done twice since the factory sunroof skin I had was from a wrecked car so it had to be removed as well as my original roof and then swapped. Also the car was completely hand blocked twice before paint and it was wet sanded and buffed afterwards. Lots of little things were done too like repainting the window trim, welding up the holes in the trunk from the OEM spoiler and drilling more, sanding and clearing the taillights so they would look good again. And finally this is a 3 stage paint so the paint is expensive and there is more time in the paint booth to paint the additional stage. If you want it done right you can't take any shortcuts.

Yeah like I said I am about 10K more into it than I wanted to be. I really should have started with a clean shell instead of buying the car already swapped since I am basically redoing everything anyhow. But I would rather have 30K in something unique than a car anyone can buy off the showroom. The fun for me is building them.

Ok guys. If you are still interested in my LS1 T56 setup send me an email. Looks like I am going to be running a L92 from a 07 Escalade. It has the Variable Valve Timing or VVT and with just a cam swap and tune it will make 530hp at the crank.

Check out the torque curve from 2500rpm and up. Try that with a 4 cylinder turbo LOL.http://www.mastmotorsports.com/dynos/L92_HO.pdf

EDIT: I forgot to add that if anyone wants to pick up the whole setup which will be engine trans computer and harness I can throw in the exhaust manifolds that will work on a S14.

Well I was looking for the L76 top end for my 6.0L LQ4 and ran across a guy that has a complete motor with 200 miles on it. So I picked up a LS3 intake which is basically the same as the L76 and is the car intake which I will need with the L92 motor. I had been looking at Mast Motorsports for an engine for my Chevelle when I get ready to build it. They are the only ones doing tuning and offering aftermarket cams for the VVT motors at this time. I gave them a call and I can get their cam setup, computer, and harness from their turn key motor for the long block I just scored. So basically I will get the same $11,000 motor they sell for about $5,800 total. I am going to sell the LS1, my extra T-56, and my LQ4 and will make most of that back. It's a win win for me. 530hp and reliability with VVT and torque that is crazy all the way across the rpm range.

I think its worth it, you cant take it back and the car you have now is incredible.

The motor will bolt in as it is physically the same just a GEN IV motor instead of your GEN III. It is also all aluminum instead of the iron block you currently have. The company sells complete turnkey engines but if you have a longblock already they will sell just the harness, computer, the VVT camshaft, and their tune is already in the computer. I fould a guy that is selling an L92 with 200 miles on it really cheap. So I just ordered the package to put on my motor that is why I am getting it cheap. Everything would work in your application but you would have to do some custom wiring to make your stock gauges work. The real nice setup would be to find a complete pullout from a new Denali or Escalade and switch the trans over to the new 6L80E. That six speed automatic is nice. I love it in my Denali. The guy I bought the motor has a transfer case and trans for $1500 I think if you want it let me know.

Yeah I have plans for the interior I just haven't gotten that far along yet. I have a Nismo wheel for it (a real one not a knock off). I will probably use a NRG quick release and hub. You can't see it in the pics but the previous owner installed a couple gauges where the ash tray used to be. I am going to add a third one and do some custom install on the gauges to make them blend in a bit more and probably go with some Defi gauges. The car is also getting a complete competition level audio system but everything will be hidden. I used to compete in IASCA Sound Quality so I want something that sounds good. I am thinking I am going to do 2 10s in the side panels by the rear seat and a couple nice component sets and amps. Nothing huge just clean sound.

Well the 530hp L92 motor is on its way. Certainly someone here wants to build a V8 240. Contact me and I will make you a great deal on my LS1 or my LQ4 if you want to go with the bigger motor.

Well it has been a while since I have updated the thread. I have been working in Iraq so the parts have just been piling up. I am home now for a while so its time to get to work.

We pulled the LS1 and T56 and found all sorts of crappy welds in the trans mount and exhaust system. Basically we will be re-doing everything that the previous owner attempted.

We also discovered that the front end had taken a pretty good hit so a new radiator support panel is going in as well as welding up and smoothing out everything under the hood. The fuse and relay panel will be relocated in the car and everything not necessary will be deleted under the hood. Pretty much the only thing you will see is that big ol 6.2L V8.

So here is a little parts list of what is about to go on the car.
