LS1 s13... Project Terd Version 56.23432niner1 Rev. 3

V8 240sx? Sure! If either the chassis OR the engine is non-Nissan (i.e. SR20 in an RX-7 or LS1 in a 240sx), we've done it.

Ok so either I am just an idiot or the size of my post was just stupid large! So now that I have lost a large portion of my post I will try and start over. The reason I have decided to do this swap is to do it my way! I have seen many LS1 swaps in 240's and none of them really seem like what I would want in my car. So I am working on this swap for myself. Please do not take that statement the wrong way. I give tons of respect to anyone who has ever done any sort of swap on their own. I takes mad balls, guts, skills and sometimes a bit of luck. With that being said I will throw up some pics of where I started and where i am at now. Please let me know if you have any questions, ideas, concerns, feedback, or criticism that might make this swap easier for me or any others that are or want to attempt this swap. My goal is to have create a bolt in cross member and trans mount made out of structural DOM tubing. Here we go and let me know what you think.

The "Turd"

Here is the Ka"rap" coming out... And yes my cherry picker pwns All!!!

I dont think that any pictures or details are needed to get a Ka out. Just start yanking and pulling until you get the pig out!

And she is out of there!

Here is just a shot of some slight trans tunnel massaging.... lol Your average "B.M.F.O.H" (that is Big Mo Fo Orange Hammer for those that dont know) can take care of this with ease.

I have lots of other pics that I need to take on Monday and should get some more work done on the car in the next couple of days. I have the trans mount fabbed up and working on version 3 of it already. There will be many more pics to come. Let me know if there is particular photo, angle, shot, or whatever that you might want to see. For right now here are some pictures of some of my fab "toys." I hope you all enjoy. Let me know what you think please.

My Miller Tig Welder.

Good old vertical Mill.

JD2 Model 3 tubing bender.

Another shot of the model 3.

yeah i was going to work on it but i wanted to do something that looked nice and that others could do. You could do it with the f body pan and a custom cross member if you feel destroying the steering geometry.

I was thinking of cutting the firewall and moving the engine back for better weight distribution. Not touching the cross member at all.

check out my thread I did exactly that.

zerothread/342129

F body oil pan pushed motor back until the oil sump would drop behind the steering rack. cut fire wall, pushed back about 5 inches, altered mounting brackets for the gas pedal so it sits close to original location. tko 500 trans makes shifter sit perfect in original hole.
