LS1 or LS2 Engines

V8 240sx? Sure! If either the chassis OR the engine is non-Nissan (i.e. SR20 in an RX-7 or LS1 in a 240sx), we've done it.

well your gonna get a wide variety of years going for a ls1 or ls2. thats 2 different engines. 5.7 vs. 6.0, 98-2007.

best bet is local junkyards or ebay. i got mine from ebay from a REPUTABLE DEALER and havent had a problem. expect to pay in the 3500-4500 range for a good ls1 with a 6 speed.

I think your best bet is to go on LS1tech.com or corvetteforums.com. There a lot of these engines for sale on those sites. At LS1tech.com you can go in the GTO forums if you want an LS2 specifically. I got my LS6 for a very good price off of someone on corvetteforums.com, and you could eat off the heads they are so clean.

The LS2 is definately a more powerful engine stock, especially throughout the range. It will cost you a bit more though.

In my experience, the engines on ebay were a bit more expensive, but still not too bad.

I got my LS1/6 off of LS1.com with no trans for about 2850 shipped. It had under 50K came with everything. It was a 2002 LS1 Fbody car with a LS6 cast block.

But as far as preference as long as you get a good motor you will be happy. If you like me you will be upgrqading it anyhow.
