Hey guys, I have mounted my ls1 coils and am in the process of wiring them in. They are from a 01 Camaro SS, and i have a Series 1 Rb25. I understand that the Ls coils have the ignitor built in. I have veiwed the other coil swap threads and they do not cover the ignitor ordeal fully.I am running Z32 Ecu with Nistune.

Can i remove the rb's ignitor? and if i do so what wires do i use before it because there is 7 going in and 6 coming out.

So that leads me to asking if removing it is going to effect my ecu setup?

the last wire is a ground wireCheck out the rb20 -> j30 writeup, it'll give you some insight into the ignitor order

The ignitor is removed all together not used at all with the LSx coils. Your existing ECU setup (nistune +z32) will be fine however ideally you should update the dwell settings for the coils (if the nistune software allows you to do that)

Just read and follow whatadsm's thread. The coils don't know or care that your using a Z32 ecu. As long as they get their 5 volt signal, they'll be happy.

Further down in his post Darius posted the wire colors.
