Hello, I purchased a 78' 280Z with an LS1 but with an R200 open differential.... I have been told that there are lock out packages thru OS Giken, MFactory, Quaife etc. that will work in the R200 to make it an LSD. Anybody have any suggestions?? Thanks in advance!

I'm sure they're available, but likely cost-prohibitive.

Finding an LSD would be cheaper and easier. Is yours a long-nose R200?

Thanks for the reply! I am not sure how to tell if it is a long nose to be honest... finding an lsd R200 has been challenging to say the least and will cost as much, if not more, than buying a the locking mechanism to make it one. Pricing on these units is right around 1500.00 from what I have seen. Just wasn't sure if anybody had a preference on brand for one or if there were other better options. Again, I appreciate the feedback!

You need to know what you have, regardless of the route you take. Take a few pics, we can help.

I've bought several R200 LSDs (long and short, clutch and viscous) for far less than $1500.

I tried to attach the files but I am getting a file too large error message...? Looking at the rear end I would guess that it is a long nose.
