LS guys, what are your engine temps, and your set up

V8 240sx? Sure! If either the chassis OR the engine is non-Nissan (i.e. SR20 in an RX-7 or LS1 in a 240sx), we've done it.

What are you other guys seeing for temps? Its only been out for a few months and today was hot so I saw temps I am not used to seeing. I want to get the temps down.... I think maybe better fans or going with a bigger better Griffin or similar radiator.

I use...160 degree t stats, fans on at 160Mishimoto radiatorMishimoto fan shroud with 2 10inch fansWater only with water wetter.

Whats your set up and what temps do you see?

ls engines are designed to run and make power at temperatures exceeding 230f. what kind of temps are you seeing?

mine usually peaks at about 220. i dont care what they are "designed" for i dont like anything higher than that haha.

griffin radiator, 2 12" fans 1 pull 1 push, water/WW.

Well in traffic on my way back from the S-Chassis meet I saw 230 at the head and 215 at the rad exit. Moving I am 215-220 but like you I would rather see 215 in traffic and 200 moving. But sounds about on par so far. I know f bodies operate 210-220.

The fans are 2 10inch 1300 CFMs on a shroud. I am thinking of upgrading to the 2100cfm fans summit sells

I have been working on this a lot and I need to finally fix the issue.

In a test I removed the heater core and plumbed in a second raditor to the waterpump fitting. Out dose of the engine bay I mounted the a larger heater core with a motorcycle fan on it. So far this way she hasn't broke 200 degrees.

I still need to wrap my headers, and do something abou the radiator heat transfer to the intake.

So far I think if I get a vented hood, wrap or coat the headers it will help. But I question the Mishimoto radiator, not sure if I want to switch to a Koyo being its also 2 row. Hinsons radiator is also a 2 row which leads to my next question. Has anyone found a 3 row core radiator that fits our chassis well? Or should I keep the Mishimoto 2 row core radiator and upgrade to an electric pump?

I still have yet to put the oil cooler on, which should help operating temps as well.

Advise please.

I have the Hinson radiator, a full shroud, 160 thermostat, and two 12" puller fans that are supposed to be 1400cfm. The Hinson radiator is a dual pass. I run about 195 on the road in 95 to 100 degree weather. In traffic I can get up to 225. I would like to run cooler and plan on upgrading to Spal 2000cfm fans. My headers are not wrapped by the way. I also plan on putting my filter in an enclosure and ceramic coating the intake tubing.

I ended up getting Mishimoto to replace the radiator, I didn't like the overflow nipple, it had a quality issue. I also dropped the headers off for ceramic, then I am wrapping them. I also ordered Meziere electric water pump.
