Hey guys, I finished up my LS2 coil pack conversion, but now I'm having an issue with mounting them.

How'd you guys mount yours?

I mounted my truck coils just like the stock cop rb coils. I didnt like the look of mounting them elsewhere and hate the idea of wires.

You can pretty easily make a metal valve cover, such that the coil packs sit at an angle inline with one another Then drill out a small hole for each plug wire to lead it to the plug You will only see less than an inch of coil pack wire sticking out If you search the posts on RB LS coilswaps you can see some people that did what im talking about I even think there is a guy on here that makes custom metal RB plug covers and could probly make one with the mounting points pre tapped, etc Other option is make a bracket <or modify the premade LS coil relocation kit they sell on ebay> where three packs sit in a row, then directly below this have the other three packs sit in a row, with the coil discharge facing away from each other on the two rows You can then mount this on the firewall somewhere near the back and as long as you keep the coil wires neat, and tucked you can actually firewall mount pretty nicely without creating a lot of wires randomly chillin out

How exactly are you making the connection between the coil and plug tip since those LS coils have the goofy ends?

Coil boot with the right spring in it. It fits like a glove with a real secure connection and the coil is just about the same height as the stock coil. I tested it on the head and the plug fires something fierce. In my mind this is a cleaner setup than pretty much anything else I could think of, then again I'm the fool who dropped a ton of cash into a 25 instead of a 26 or 30 so what do I know lol.

Thanks we'll see how it works in a real world race scenario soon enough.

I used an L shaped piece of sheet metal and mounted it by the fuel rail. Part number for the wire set is 4668 from auto zone but cylinder #6 barely reaches.

Mounted mine down on the passenger side frame rail. The ls coil bracket lines up with two of the 10mm holes on the frame rail. So it bolted right in. Bought cut to length wires. Also Built a little Sheild for the coils to block any water. So I still can run my cover and doesn't look as messy in the engine bay.

I have them in the stock location just like jimefan but without the custom bracket, I took the braket of the coil n welded some "ears" to it, used some Allen head bolts. Fits like a glove, only downfall is that u won't be able to use the coilcover anymore..

I used the rb coil boot, it fits perfect on the ls coil n is made for the rb. As for the spring, I had some 4.6 coils I replace on my expedition and took the spring of it, cut it in half, it's just the right length. I take pics when stops raining.

I don't mind losing the coil cover but I am getting sick of screwing with burnt plug wires. Those MSD's don't hold up terribly well. Bad enough where I have considered putting OEM coils back on.

Great photos guys, thanks for sharing.

Well I only had two coils, so I took a trip to the local u pull it I got the spring of one.. Remember u cut it in half so u need one spring per two coils..
