My cars starting to ride pretty rough after this winter, as I beat the hell out of it. Going to be replacing a majority of the front end parts. And shocks/struts will be replaced with KYB GR2's, I was thinking of doing the springs aswell as I wanted to lower it 2-4"

Only springs I can find are the $400 set on 4x4parts.com, which would be over $515 USD to ship to me, so like $600 canadian, not looking to spend that much on springs, and they are only a 2" drop but the only person i seen a review of them from, said they didnt even lower his ride, So is there any solution?

This is for an 01 Qx4 2wd btw

I cut springs back when I was 18, wont ever do it again, car rides like poop, shocks blow like poop, and that was on a sporty car lol, would be even worse on an suv Id think

Was hoping there was a 'proper" solution, $600 is to steep for me though for springs alone when Im used to paying under $200 for a set of coilovers

Funny, there is a guy in the VQ35 engine forum wanting to lower his PF too. He's already taken it down the 1/4 mile and wants to make it go faster...go figure.

I think his name is glider33 or something. Maybe you two should compare notes and see what you come up with.

Forget coil springs...go with Air (bags).

Best bet is look for a local shop and trying getting a group buy on lowering springs. I'll ask around but mostly we would have to have 5 min for any sort of group buy.

I think it would be damn near impossible to find a shop to design and manufacture a spring that isnt already out. I was just hoping there was a cheaper vendor, or someone figured out that another cars spring fit our car and you could use those lowerring springs or something like that....

I don't actually mean design. Maybe Shops get those spring from 4x4 or other sellers for cheaper can get a few and sell it at discounts.

WOT don't bother buying lowering spring. A guy im buying rims from had it on his Qx4 and said that it was really bouncy and destroyed most of his shocks.

Did you happen to ask him where he bought them? Or did he just cut them?

Any car will bounce when not lowerred properly.

I dropped my Crx 4" and it doesnt bounce at all, hugs the road tighter than youd hug your girl after a 2 year stint @ the don lol

Mind you I only plan on going with KYB shocks, so Im only looking for 2" atmost here

Which seller? 4x4 parts?

Im up for anything that would bring the price down, they told me they want $75 shipping alone for the springs on 4x4 parts though

i would get creative on this one, look for other trucks with similar size and spring rate im guessing maybe the GM enoy/trailblazers

i had tein springs chopped 2" on my civic,it sure sat excactly how i wanted, but at times i wished i had a kidney belt and since its a civic well who cares

our trucks ride much smoother and i wouldnt do anything to ruin that, specially a Qx4
