Honestly not to sound like an a$$ you could google that or search the forums here for treads on it. to keep it simple and straight to the point springs are just replaing OEM springs, coilovers replaces you cars shocks or struts with performance dampers and springs its the whole suspension, alot more money that springs but definitely worth it i regret getting springs. Hope i could help.

Do the springs ruin your struts

Typically yes. Mating lowering springs to OEM struts is a No-Go and will cause the OEM struts to wear out prematurely, particularly if the vehicle is lowered more than 1" on OEM struts; and in most cases affects the ride quality of the vehicle too---generally, making the vehicle have a bouncy ride. You're better off lowering your car right from the get-go by installing a quality set of coilovers, or aftermarket lowering spring/strut combo. Air suspension is another option to consider, albeit an expensive one.

There are folks on the forum who've lowered their coupes using Eibach springs along with OEM struts and said the ride quality wasn't compromised significantly. You may want to search the forum and follow-up with them to see if they experienced any premature strut failure. :yesnod

I'm running BC Coils. About a 2 inch drop all around. They are 30 way adjustable dampening, and will go low enough to start ruining things. 1,000 dollars direct from BC Racing. Rides a little harsh but it looks good.

Do you experience any of the infamous noises associated with coilovers?

Yes. I have all kinds of wonderful noises. Mostly because the struts are much stiffer than stock. I get rattles, i occasionally get squeaks. Things like that.
