You are able to do this yourself without a spring compressor, or you can purchase a spring compressor. I believe that Kragen or Autozone will Rent tools like these to us shadetree mechanics!
NOTE: it may help to remove your brake rotors to give you more working clearance.
1. put up the front of the car on jack stands.
2. put the hydaulic jack/lift under the suspension and raise suspenesion right up to when the car starts to lift off the jack stand.
3. remove the strut bolt under the hood(bolt in the middle, not the 3 surrounding)
4. slowly let out the jack until the suspension is hanging.
5. unclip the brake line and speed control line from the strut.
6. remove the 2 large bolts at the bottom of the strut.
7. wiggle the strut until it slips out.
8. remove the stock spring and install new spring over the strut...I would advise you to purchase Tokico Blue Struts b/c you stock struts are probably shot and will give you a junky ride if they are not replaced.
9. put the new spring on
10. tighten the 2 bottom strut bolts
11. line up the top of the strut with the mounting hole
12. start to compress the suspension with the jack little by little until the top of the strut is able to receive the nut.
13. reconnect the brake line clip and speed sensor clip.
