You'll put the extra mileage on your car, burn the extra gas, and put the extra pollution into the air all so your car can be 1 1/2" lower? I can understand lowering a car, cuz it does look better. But when you are changing your driving habits resulting in more wear and tear, more gas and more pollution, all for an inch and a half....that just doesnt make sense to me.manvan wrote: ill drive 30 min out of the way to avoid them
Lowering spring lower the vehicle reducing the center of gravity (yes I realize how tall the car is, which is even more reason to do it) which in turn lowers teh center of gravity allowing the car to handle better.marleyfan wrote:

Let's be honest here. 90% of the reason for lowering, for most people, is for looks. I don't know about you, but I use my car to go to work, get groceries, basically to get from one place to another. The car handles pretty well already. Why do I need to make it handle like a sports car to go to work? But the point of my post is that the person I quoted will go out of his way and put on extra miles just for the pleasure of being one and a half inches lower. If you can drive normally, but just watch for potholes, that's one thing. But to go 30 min out of your way just cuz it's lowered....well I still don't get it. But to each their own I guess. I would love to lower mine (don't have the money) but if it meant I would have to change my routes and cost me more in gas and time it wouldn't be worth it.Gr8dave37 wrote:

Known of anyone who's installed Tanabe springs with tires 225/45-17? Will they rub? I'm planning on buying this springs but not so sure if I'll have to change the tires I have right now. Any info will be appreciated.biggie wrote:Definately shouldn't. Unless you have way too tall/wide of tires. And aftermarket lowering spring should not drop more than 2".
