Hey guys,First off, I have a 1986 Nissan D21 4x4...

After doing some research, i found that I can lower the front of my truck by the torsion bars. (No Problem, i already raised them up a while ago, so I know how to do that.)

And then I found the whole drop block thread. However, after looking at my truck I found out that the leaf springs were ONTOP of the axle. This causes for a problem with being able to lower it.

Is it possible to do a axle flip and put the springs on the bottom? Are there kits?

Any tips would be awesome!

Thanks guys!

Why are you lowering a 4x4?

LOL, good question.

It's basically just something that I want to try to screw around I guess haha. No real reason, doesn't need to be done. But i want to give it a try and laugh at the 31s with 0 offset wheels on the lowered truck

I don't get it either, but to answer your question, you'll need to cut and reweld the perches to the bottom of the axle, and you might be able to use a set of 2wd springs.

Using the springs you have and going sua will drop it probably too much - about 5". 2wd springs have more arch.

yeah flipping them will lower it a lot!

maybe see if a re-arch will do enough of a drop for you any spring shop can do it

There is a leaf spring flip kit on the market that move the leaf springs under the axle but I'm not sure how it works. Another option is shorter shackles. Here's an article that might help: suspension lowering

Why dig up an old thread to ask your question, why not start a new thread? Plus you already answered your own question if that wasn't enough.
