I need to lower my car...

Do I really need to buy $200 springs to do that, or can i adjust the height on the stock springs???...

The only way to lower the car with factory hardware is by cutting the springs. Just get aftermarket springs and be happy.

uhhhh... the only way you can adjust them is cutting them... which is HIGHLY retarded. if you do this you will be laughed at forever.

otherwise save up the money to get some aftermarket springs.

Or you just look on ebay you can get some teins for about 100 bucks.Better than going to a shop or a sponser paying big bucks for things but some times it is worth to by things from the sponsers or a shop. Depends on the part you are looking for.

Why do you need to lower your car? Do you just want it to be gangster or what? If 200 dollars sounds expensive to you, I suggest not bothering with modifying your car. If you lower your car, you will need shocks as well. Use the search button to find answers to simple questions like this.

It looks goofy...I was just wondering if I could. I have a body kit on my car, and it looks kinda goofy...Plus Im getting 17s on it soon, so I was curious if i could dropping it without spending anything...

as stated, you can drop it but it will ruin your car eventually. but since you have a kit youre probably more worrried about looks. i wont tell you what to do either way, but if you think that you can, cutting your srpings will give you the "look" youre going for. gangster-ghetto as hell, esp if you dont cut them right. youll have one corner riding really high and one sagging, etc...

Just take the spring out... the bumpstops are like 8kgmm+... and they're pretty well undamped by that spring rate so it will make your car handle super awesome

There is some super ricer that cut the spring down way to far in Austin, he is literally tucking 15in down to the rim on both ends

Ahaha I have seen that guy! Black hatchback right? He tried following me around one night and it looked like his car was jumping on a trampoline or something. Even on the smoothest roads his car keeps bouncing.

Guys...I dont see why you seem all so offended...I asked...Do a search on google and see what "lowering your car" comes up with...Tons of links to Allstate and Geico.

Since I dont really ever plan on racing my 240sx, Its purely going to be a show car for looks...Ill get a picture on here when its all finished, its gonna look sexy.

hey man, i really don't think they're trying to bash you in anyway. cutting your springs is just a bad idea there are better ways to do it. even though your car will be show u still need to drive it on the street. and there in turn comes back w/ why u need a good spring/strut combo.

its also about safety. since your cutting your springs it will change the travel of your strut which will hurt your car going over potholes, or making a sudden move to avoid an accident. your car wont respond the way it should.

If you look at my car i hav a body kit and 18's on it but its still stock ride height, because i cannot afford to change it and still retain good ride quality and responsiveness. please dont be stupid and cut your springs.

IIRC it was a coupe

I was helping a friend pick up a shell when i first saw it from the back with the stock exhaust like 4in off the ground...

Then he always used to cruise by the Vans meet and it was so obvious it was like an infinite rate spring with blown shocks.

Ohh. Thats right. I remember now. It was a coupe. I saw it going over to edo one night, and I remember being disgusted by how they had ruined a 240sx coupe. ( I have a coupe and am partial to them)

let him learn the hard way, it will mean theres probly going to be another $100 240 on the market pretty soon.

when i had the integra and was into the honda scene there were so many people who cut their springs to achieve the look while they saved for a good shock/spring combo. they ended up not having a car to put their suspension on by the time they had enough money.
