Is it a good idea to lower an 01 q45t that has the electric suspension (sport/auto)?

IMO, no. That's why I steered clear from the Q45a when I bought my G50. The guy that does my engine work told me that it could be a nightmare removing it to put aftermarket suspension on. The active suspension is amazing on Q45's, I'd leave it. Nice to see another Tennesseean on here.

Actually the Y33 is much simplier than those A's were, way ahead of their time but a nightmare once the car turned 10+ years old.....if you want to lower it you need to get rid of pretty much the whole electric system and replace with coil overs or new shocks/struts and springs. If your near 100k your electronic system is about shot, so you can replace the system with OEM and renew.

The Q does handle much better when lower, however, it is a VERY big car and as such you've got to be VERY careful when riding 2" lower than stock. I have Tein springs in their with KYB SR Specials and I have to really watch it. If the Q was my only car I wouldn't have done it, but I have truck that i can take when I need to rough it.

MY Anniversary edition is 3.1" lower all around and I went to a smaller tire as well. TO replace the electrical suspension I literally removed the wires and the motors on top of each strut, tuck the wire connections away in case I ever went back to stock for resale, and then replaced everything with coilovers. Never had an issue in the 3 years it has been that way too.
