i am going to rebuild/builp up a KA-E motor to turbo it, then swap it in my 1990 when im finnished building it. if i get thorugh the build/port polish/ everything else and i use lower compression pistons (because of the turbo set up) but my current engine craps out, can i use the built engine with no turbo for a while until i finnish getting all the turbo parts... so basically i will be running a turbo built block with lower compression in a na format until i can get the turbo on... may be a while thoughwill this cause any problems or is there anything i should be worried about?

it should be ok, cept you will feel it with less hp cause of the lower comp.

thats not a bad idea to run na for a bit. get the motor all broken in and whatnot. then you will really love it when you turbo it.

unless you lower the compression ratio lower than the standard boosted 8.5:1, you won't notice a difference because it's already a 8.6:1. Which isn't enough to tell.

I guess if by the rare chance you have a early '89 with a 9:1 motor you may be able to tell a little bit.
