ok i bought a turbo with a stock internal wastegate which is set to 10 psi. Does any one know how i can go about lowering the boost to 7?? im guessing im going to have to shorten the rod or somthing on the actuator?? anyone know? any easy trick to do it other than buying an external wastegate .. let me know please .. thanksCarlos

If you cut the rod then you WILL increase lag. There was a hold thread about this some time back... I'm just to lazy to look it up... maybe u should :pface

You can't really get the boost lower than what the wastegate is set at. You can raise it pretty easily but not lower.

Only real thing to do is get another actuator. I might have a plan for you. I run 10psi from my 7psi actuator with a MBC. Send me an email to [email protected]. Maybe we could make a deal to trade or something, so long as they fit the same.

I have a garret turbo. Actuators are pretty much universal so long as they bolt on to the turbo fine.

I'm not sure on length, but the actuator itself is probably about 7-9 inches long and bolts onto the turbo with 2 studs on the actuator and a little fabbed up flange.

I'll see if I can get a pic and some dimensions

Try internal wastegate lower

Yes your right. Making it lower does increase top boost without affecting spool since the gate is closed. BUT shortening will lower top boost and affect spool since the gate will be opened at idle.
