im having problems getting my 240 to start. when i hit the key all i get is the relay firing. i took a test light and went to town with it and found a plug on my fuse box that fires when i hit the key, but its not the correct plug thats supposed to fire the starter. the starter fires when i wire it to that plug but i dont want to getto up my car. id rather have the right plug fire than use a different one. can anyone help me. ive looked thru a copy of the service manual and still cant figure out why its doing that.

i used this before i made this thread

this is the plug that fires the starter and runs to the alternator

this is the plug that its supposed to plug into by the fuse box. when there plugged together the white wire has constant power but the B/Y wire doesnt get any power when you turn the key

this is the wire that powers when i hit the key, its the same type of plug as the the starter plug.

Check the inhibitor relay. They tend to go out on old or high mileage cars. It's the blue thing that's got 2 connectors going to it and it's by the battery/ washer bottle area.

That's the relay i was talking about. You can bypass it.It's purpose is so that you can't start the car without pressing the clutch pedal.
