i read this zerothread/105618 i did the upper timing tensioner replacement and removed the guides, but i still have the rattle noise a little bit. I am afraid to take off the crank pulley to remove the lower timing guide. has anyone done this? the write-up above doesnt say how to take off the lower cover. help?

I've done it a few times but didn't do a write up or anything like that. It's pretty self explanatory. Take off everythign in the way such as fan, belts radiator etc to give you enough room. take off the upper timing cover then you obviously unbolt all the bolts mainly 10's and 12's if i remember right. You also have to drop the oile pan because of the oil pick up tube getting in the way unless you drop the oil pan.that was kind of a quick explanation on how to do it. Best way is just to get into it and make sure you miss no bolts before you start "prying" the cover off.
