Hey, I got a question about the lower radiator hose. Im replacing mine right now and i notcied that where the hose connects to the rad. there is a jimmy rig sensor installed. I thought it was probably the previous owner who installed it, but the thing that gets me is it's a factory connector on the sensor. I cut the wrapping off to see if he maybe cut and used the connector but it's a clean wire with no cuts. Just wondering if your lower rad. hoses also have this and what it's for. Because the new hose i bought to put in dosent have a spot for this, and by the looks of the way it's installed it definitely dosen't look factory. Thanks in advance.

I bought one, brand new from factory, esplicitly for that sensor and housing to run my electric fan. In the stock setup, it turns the auxilary fan on for the a/c condensor if the coolant gets too hot.

WC, you can buy the switch from Nissan seperate or it's included in the lower rad hose/sensor housing. I think for the whole hose and switch combo, it's about $50 or so through Nissan.

You'll need to set it up so it turns a relay on, though. The switch can't support the current needed to run a fan, so you'll burn it up pretty fast

Also, remember it's designed to be in the circuit in the lower rad hose, so it's temp setting is set for after the radiatior has cooled the water.

You have to buy the whole lower hose to get that housing. I tried buying just the housing and sensor and Nissan said it wasn't possible.

Artic, according to the '89-'90 service manual, the coolant temp needs to be at least 198-208 F to activate

Now, ive never see the lower hose in person and not saying your wrong but from the pic on frsport's site it looks like you get just the hose when you order it?
