hey guys i have a 91 240, however my question is not for that its for my gfs 97 max. she needs a lower rad support since hers is rusted straight to hell. from looking at it it looks like i cant replace just the lower rad support i have to replace the ENTIRE thing. am i correct? is there anything i can do besides take it to my body guy and have him cut out the rust and put a patch peice in there. cars only gotta alst another couple months till we can afford a new come. oh yea heres some pics of the cancer.

she used to live in mass so go figure it would rot like this

It's a pretty common issue with the 4th gens. You can just replace the lower support, but you have to drill out the spot welds, and have the new one welded in.

You can try here. From what I've read there are some cheap aftermarket ones around, but they are not made very well and have thin steel.

well i just found certifit.com and they have the whole front radiator support for 58 bucks so i tihnk i might go that route instead of 130 for just the part i need.

Street I live in Mass and mine looks like that, AND I rinse my car down almost constantly. I just noticed it while putting the car up on Jack stands. I'll consider doing the same replacement, Its just hard with all that salt everywhere in the winter
