hey i was thinking of buying the projectsilvia engine mounts (Cusco copies). i was wondering if anyone had run these and knew how they performed, and of course if it lowers the engine at all.

The reason i ask is my DP and my strut bar are rubbing a bit, I'm running a KAT with stock mounts and their tore up. Thanks

You want to lower your motor for a strut bar? I want to raise my motor to get more oil-pan clearance, this make more sense to me.

i would get the strut bar that does across the firewall, it was in the fabrication market forum and I would get mounts that raise the motor a little. I dont want to damage my oil pan just for a crappy strut bar

Lower engine, raise car = no noLower car, raise engine =

But seriously if you need new mounts then just get normal mounts. Strut bars are what like $100 just get a new one.

its not just for the strut bar, like i said previously my down-pipe rubs as well. Im not too concerned about the oil pan as it is steel and theirs roughly an in. of clearance, if it was aluminum i would be more worried.

i would like to keep my strut bar as well seeing as its a legit cusco and its much better construction than i typically see on most cars.

i guess what I'm mainly worried about is most of these performance mounts out there are made to accommodate SR20's as well which actually have taller mounts. i just need maybe a half in on each side and it would be perfect.

Get a thicker trans mount..... lift the tail up some and there's your downpipe clearance.

Build hockey puck mounts. CA and RB guys use them to lower the engine a bit.

those may be my only options (hockey pucks and azhitman's mounts). i just don't like the straight through single bolt for mounting. Besides moving the engine forward that single bolt will transfer a lot of vibration just by itself.

ill probably have to order these

it looks like they could go lower by notching the bolt holes on each side. ill just have to get them and try i guess.
