While crawling in under and around my Q yesterday i found a wierd oily sticky substance on my garage floor (no NOT that:). I traced it to the lower control rod that goes from the lower control arm to the frame. On the frame end it has one of those liquid filled bushings that the Q has tons of. So heres the question...Anyone know of an aftermarket bushing to press into the factory rod end? I may try to see if i can find a replacement if nobody has found one yet. Maybe ill get lucky with all the ES bushings thats are out there one will fit.

Why go aftermarket when the factory part is only around $15 and was designed for the car? I assume the '97s aren't much different than the 1st gens.

I hadnt priced it yet. I figured that puppy would cost $80-90. Ill check on the price and decide from there. I am thinking outloud here....but i think a Heim Joint would be the ticket for locking in the front end and get rid of the slop, I know its a luxo-box so obviously that kind of mod isnt for everyone:).

Just remember that each part was designed with the subsystem in mind. You can stiffen up one joint, but everything in the subsystem is related. My concern would be that other parts will begin to wear faster, but by how much I don't know. Ask for the bushing alone, not the tension rod, which I think probably is around $80-90.
