I've tried searching but search returned no results or left me in the wtb section. Hopefully someone out there can help me...

I've tried to take apart the knuckle, lower control arm, and the outer rod (rack & pinion) [not exactly sure what it's called]. Any how the joint from knuckle to lca and the rack & pinion (outer rod) just doesn't want to come off.

Is there a trick to this or is it just brute force? I'd take it to a mechanic but may be getting sr swap so i need to save $$.

To get the outer tie rod off, you need to remove the nut that holds it to the knuckle. Then, take a hammer and hit the knuckle a few times and it should pop up. The same procedure should be taken with the lower ball joint. I would put some penetrating oil on them before you tried pounding them off.
