Post pics of your lower control arms angle! how low can you go baby! (i would post a pic of mine but im a lazybitch)

lol

Basically im afraid to lower my car to the point of the arms being under square ie like this haha im afraid of the handling being lost because i love this look so much but if i have to sacrifice handling performance then i may decide against it...

Yeah, you could loose some handling people say, but when my car was that low (not my s13) I thought it handled better lol.Gonna put some extra strain on your cv joints though so you might rip the boots eventually depends how serious the angles are.

I think drift cars usually handle like **** cuz the car just wants to slide all day via stiff *** springs. A car setup for grip is way different than a car setup for drift.

A slammed car will still most likely handle pretty damn good but it could be better if it was fine-tuned to the best ride height and stiffness. You want a little bit of weight transfer and some dampening so body bouncing doesn't occur and you start breaking ****.

Yeah i understand that i plan on running silicone CV boots most likely, i dont want to have to replace them monthly lol.

I believe megan just started making some and Battle version makes some as well im going to look into them a little more to see exactly what they do.

Everyones got their own opinion that car looks pretty "perfect" IMO i dont mind the spoiler too much it adds to its aggression.

http://www.splparts.com/main4/index.htmGet SPL tie rod ends. They are adjustable, since you can fit a lot of rubber washers on em to bring the tie rod down a bit so it's flatter than it is now.

I actually have Circuit sports tie rods inners and ends but not installed yet. I also have that aluminum steering bushing with the 4 holes that goes on the steering linkage where it meets the firewall.. I plan on installing them both at the same time hopefully the CS tie rod setup will suffice.

It is true that when you lower your car to where the LCA's are "undersquare" it does dramatically change bump steer, cornering, weight transfer ect.

That's why they invented roll center adjusters. It goes in place of your ball joint and re-aligns the roll center for your suspension geometery back to where it should be.

Are LCA really that important?I mean, they just hold the knuckle. Aren't tie rods and tensions the determinants of handling?

No, sorry.

Was talking to the original poster.Pretty sure that car is a Florida car and the user says California.Just wondering.

Lower Control Arms are pretty important. They are pretty much the "base" of your suspension on the car.

That's what I'm thinking too. OP should be more concerned about bump steer than LCA.

Ok, enough of this. LCA's make a big difference in the way your car handles. If your arms are pointing up, your car is not performing at it's optimal level. Roll centers are screwed and in some cases, the wheel will camber out instead of cambering in under extreme compression. Ikeya sells arms with roll center adjusters. Also, S15 rear subframes have different pick up points so that the suspension behaves in a better manner.

No i dont own that car its just a reference of what id like to see my car look like lol. Anyways i am not considering megan control arms lol like id use that name at the base of the suspension lol i dont trust their name holding everything together haha. I would go with the Battle version arms way before megan believe me. SPL also makes some but ill look into the ones you speak of as well...
fast_s13 wrote:lca's dont make much of a differnts you want to keep your tierods as level as possible.to control bump steer
yeah i know about keeping the tie rods as level as possible that is very important im basically just trying to find out if the angles of the LCA's affects the handling in a bad way which makes it not worth lowering past the ________ all the way across point...
