I have 2000 xterra with bad lower ball joints, I have tried to buy the ball joints and it seems that they are not available by them selves. Does anyone know where I can pick some up. The dealer says I have to buy the whole lower control arm, and the auto part stores claim there dealer only parts. also is it possible to replace the ball joints with out the entire control arm.

They can be replaced, but they do need to be pressed in. Before you go this far, inspect your LCAs carefully for any cracking around the LBJ area. If any cracks are starting to form, you'll need new arms anyways.
