The difference between the low mark and high mark is one pint (1/2 qt.) Cold is measured first thing in the morning or after work if the vehicle has not been moved, hot after several miles of driving.

I've owned a '91, and still have my '92 with 230K+ on the original transmission.

These cars are VERY sensitive to low fluid. In fact, if I drive with it "full" on my dipstick it shifts poorly when cold. I discovered this when the cars were under 100K miles, and ever since I always have kept them well above the full line when cold.

This does NOT apply to my '94 Q45, which has a different transmission from the 90-93 Q's.
