I've read a lot of people are around 18degrees at full boost. I'm running the stock ignition map that came with the PFC. It feels alright while spooling, but feels a bit flat after 5k and seems to struggle to rev past 6k. Mechanical and base timing are spot on. Is it possible my timing numbers are way too low? It may be possible my CAS is on its way out and that's why it's struggling past 5k. The knock numbers are pretty low, the most I ever see under full boost is between 2-6. The spark plugs dont have any black specs on the porcelain, so that seems consistent. However, the burn marks on the ground straps aren't entirely even across all 6. Some are at the 90 and a couple are pretty low. That makes me think it's a side effect of the CAS going.

Anyway, here's my stock d-jetro timing table. The second picture is the difference between mine and another map for a slightly different turbo.

fill the whole ignition map with 20.
plug lead between the coil and the plug, strap the light to the plug lead.
verify timing is 20* crank and adjust as normal.

timing can vary motor to motor so a map for one car may not suit another even if the setup is identical...same goes for fuel.
what kind of afrs are you targeting under full load?

I like to play it safe and run a little more rich while I play with timing.. I target 11.0. The rb25 base should be at 15 if Im not mistaken? I set the idling and adjacent cells to 15, idle at 650 +/- 50, turned off idle ign feedback and its spot on at 15 degrees.. Compression was good as well last time I checked..

I understand about the motor to motor thing, it just struck me as a little strange that a lot of guys have quite a bit higher timing than I do.

The only thing I can think of is my CAS taking a dump at higher rpm.. What kind of timing are you running? Just out of curiosity.. I'm researching before I start raising timing more.. Like I said, it doesn't appear to be knocking much..

again lock the timing map to 20* across and rev the motor up, you cannot set base time by simply disabling the idle ignition timing.

20* will not break the motor doing unloaded free revs and will show you if timing is set correctly and if there is an issue with the cas.

also take the knock numbers with a grain of salt...they're not exactly fine tuned as i've had motors that did all kinds of nasty things according to the knock counter but had zero actual knock and others that had low numbers that were detonating their face off.
really need to read plugs and have the car on a loading dyno to find MBT via timing else you're just shooting in the dark.
at a minimum an egt gauge...

:werd: Cool man, I knew youd probably have some good advice. Thanks

I am a little baffled by my burn marks. I dont understand how some could be spot on and others are so low. I'll have to try maybe some fuel adjustments because if thats not the cause, then its definitely that cylinder not sparking properly. Im running ls coils and the harness and coils are definitely good.
