Hi,I did finally buy my Versa and I got an SL with the convenience package, very happy with it.I do have a question though. My low temp indicator light is always on every time i start the car. is this normal? lasts for like a minute but even when the engine should be warm it goes on but only after i haven't driven it for a few hours. the manual said if it stays on after the engine should be significantly warmed to service it. I was just wondering if it's normal for it to go on. someone mentioned because it's a small engine it cools down quickly.I don't know much about cars so any insight would help. Thanks!

sounds normal.in a few hours it will cool down but as soon as it warms back up it should go away.now if it stays on all the time then something is wrong!

Ok that's good to know. Do I have to wait until it turns off or can I drive while it's still illuminated blue?

No jackrabbit starts or Fast and Furious driving while the low temp light is in. Your engine is not up to temperature (and as a result, your oil may not be either). Once it goes out, drive however you want. Just drive on the cautious to normal side before then.

Think of this light less like a warning light, and more like a reminder. Because this car doesn't have a temperature gauge it has a low and high temperature lights placed next to the other warning lights. But it's just filling the same purpose as a temperature gauge while taking up less space.

Yes, and by that token, if you ever get a RED temperature light, pull over immediately and don't drive. It means you're overheating, and overheating can cause a host of problems ranging from blown head gaskets to cracked or damaged engine parts (heads, pistons, cylinder sleeves, etc.)

Alright thanks a lot. Now I don't have to think I'm doing something wrong.

The blue low temp light turns off when the engine coolant reaches 128 degrees F.
