I have a 1998 PF with 175k miles. It’s making a weird groan/rumble sound at the last bit of movement before stopping. Mostly on rolling stops, when there is a bit of a decline. This is coming from the front end. The sound is only at that point. Tire shop said it was wheel bearings. We did that, sound improved, but then came back. Now they are suggesting struts or strut mounts. No sounds when turning the wheels. Brakes were done not too long ago too. Although rotors weren’t done then. Any suggestions?

Did they grease the pads? Nissan brakes make all kinds of weird noises if you don't grease both the backs and shoulders, basically all the contact points between the pads and the caliper/caliper bracket.

I don’t know if they specifically greased or not. Is greasing something they would typically do? This was at Les Schwab.

Experienced techs know to do it, inexperienced ones don't always. Depends who worked on it.
