I got my new 2007 Versa with 18 inch rims from the dealer with only 25 miles on it but the low pressure sensor is coming on and they say its because of the tire and rim combo and that they can't turn off the sensor. The annoying part is I have that damn sensor light on all the time. Has anybody had or having that problem when they've switched out the stock tires and rims? If so, how was the sensor problem fixed?

Thanks :D

i think you'll be looking at the light for a long time, or untill nissan mounts TPMS sensors on your rims (i think you should atleast ask) hope this helps, oh and yes the TPMS light goes on because of aftermarket rims.

I have aftermarket rims on my Versa and the pressure light kept going on. Finally, they ordered a replacement sensor and everything has been ok. My wife drove over a bridge and it came on again. The mechanic said that if I put the pressure at a certain amount on all the tires, it will go off. I have tried 31, 32, 33, etc. still on. Any ideas?

looking - The OEM wheel sensors should fit aftermarket rims. Do you know what they did with the original Nissan rims? They probably got cheap and didn't take them off the rim. Even if you have a set of rims that the OEM sensors do NOT fit, there are aftermarket TPMS sensors compatible with the original BCM.

Go back to the dealer, demand (politely) that they fit sensors (original or aftermarket) since they are required for the TPMS system, which is 1) one of the features listed on the window sticker (it's fraud if they disable it and didn't tell you before you drove off the lot) and 2) they should have done this to begin with.

Cruncher - take it back to your dealer. Tell them that the BCM has failed. It's a well-known issue with these. If you need support, use the search function and search for "TPMS"... make sure you select the "post bodies" option, so all of the threads show up, not just ones with it in the title.
