Post

2 days ago the car ran fine and pulled hard at 7psi/-10 vaccum on the boost gauge after i reattached the i.c. piping. Yesterday i removed vaccum lines and ran the car but, it idled very bad, enought to die. I got it to run but their is a lose of power. The hard lines on by the fuel rail are removed, I ran a vaccum line from the back of the manifold the the fpr/boost gauge and I have the brake booster line. The hard lines on the back of the head are there but not connected to vaccum. Today i got the car to idle but their is still a lose of power when boosting, feels the same way it did when the i.c. piping came loose. im going to check compression tomorrow. Please help, thanks

hows does the pressure regulator solenoid for the oem fpr behind the head sound, daniel240. How much vacumm at idle do you guys have I was at -10 first at idle and now its around -20. I read somewhere on the forums that someone else is at -22 at idle. At high rpms before readline, I cant hit redline, the engine doesnt die but it drops rpms until around 3500 in which I can get on her again, is this the fuel cut, or the maf not reading air flow anymore, I dont know

That's REALLY bad. I'd say your motor is toast, especially #1.

Check the compression again, then check it yet again and add a little oil to cyl. number 1. I'm guessing your rings are toast, but you might get lucky and figure out you just made a mistake on doing the compression check the first time.

i feel bad for ya man. Its happened to me before but with a built motor. There's plenty of stock ka's out there. Get to the dyno next time before you boost it.

Man, a 40 point spread in compression is awful. Definitly recheck your numbers...

i added oil to the cylinders after testing them and i got , (1) 130,(2),(3), and (4) stayed the same. I tested them again yesterday and got the same, i understand vacuum lines can make your car run like crap, but damn, she doesnt pull, I think the rings are done

i got a vacuum line diagram from the fsm and rerouted some lines, the idle is good and no power. I was waiting to see that word (rebuild). I was going to try to pull the motor out this weekend if i have anytime but i really dont think thats going to happen since im getting married, thats for troubleshooting peeps
