A week ago I Was low on gas and stoped by a gas station, and they were out of 89 & 92. It was to far to the next gas station so I put half a tank of 87 octane it. Will this have caused any damage to my engine? I think I read some were that the oxygen sensor could be damaged. please let me know. Thanks

It shouldn't be problem. The owner's manual states that you can run low octane in the event of an emergency but not for extended periods of time.

If I was in the same situation, I would put enough fuel to get myself to the nearest place that had some super. Then I would fill it up.

Also, you could buy some octane booster and keep it in the car for emergencies.

I try to get 93 octane from Shell or Chevron. The car seems to run the best on it. Whenever I put something else in it, I notice the performance drop.

Again the stickers [numbers] on the pump are created by the marketing department. No rules or regulations that they be accurate as to the number

All one can be sure of is that premium is probably better than regular solely from the higher detergent content.
