Somebody has an ad in the Austin paper for a 94Q with 38K miles -- $8950. I wonder what that is all about? Nine year old car with 4200 per year. I know the little old lady . . . .how far away is the church?

I think 9k is too much. It's at least too much to be considered a fantastic deal. The car's still 10 years old. I think my coworker got a better deal on a '97 with 70k for under $8k.

I won't be there until the end of September. $9K is not too much if it is in good shape and documented.

$9k is a correct price. Pounce on that bad boy. Its good for at least 10 years of driving.

The car is priced exactly at KBB retail.

It's definately unusual to get really low mileage like that, but it does happen. I bought "Q2" from a guy who owns his own business and drove it just a few miles from his home garage to his reserved garage space at the office. He spent a lot of time traveling by air, so the car had consistent, but minimal use... Service records are very important in these cases. I felt confident since the records were still in Infiniti's database and this seller was the only owner...

I actually called about this particular Q (mostly out of curiosity) but got an answering machine. If it's the right color (pearl, grey, or green), in excellent condition, garage kept, never wrecked and the price is a little flexible, I might be able to talk my mom into buying it... :D

Lots of expensive rubber items to replace regardless of milage. And why the heck pay RETAIL for a Q?That's part of the fun in owning a Q, you get to claim a deal!

Depends on what else is out there... I don't think KBB does much to take into account the low mileage. When I bought "Q2" it was about $1000-1500 difference between Q1's 168K (at that time) and Q2's 47K. I know the value to me (cost/mile) available between the two are very different... I guess there's not enough data to make the calculation since there are very few low mileage old cars sold.

You're definately right about the rubber components. I'm going to take a picture of the pile of suspension bushings, etc. in my garage when I'm done with Q2. Interestingly enough, most of what I'm replacing is probably fine... at least at the look

Exactly. I doubt many people pay KBB retail for Qs, especially in a soft used car market. I just bought a Dakota on Saturday. KBB retail of $8000, private party value $5k. I got it for $2600.
