I've just finished changing the distributor on my 95 altima. Like so many others, oil in the distributor stopped me dead. I had a devil of a time getting the engine started after the distributor change. Finally, with 4 new spark plugs, I am running but now the idle is low (700 RPM). Engine wants to stall after it warms up. It drives fine, but when your foot is off the gas, it wants to die. Does the ECM have to re-learn the system since I disconnected the battery or is there something else I need to do?

u can try unplugging the ecu and see if that works...700 rpm sounds pretty normal...my altima idle drops when the fans comes on but because i have 2 sets of hid lights..also check the alternator.

I have the kinda the same problem. I have already removed the stock air box and and put a adaptor off the MAF for a cone and put new plugs, wires, cap and rotor. The car drives strong and gets great MPG's (28-32 on highway. I didn't belive it till I saw it.) I warm my car till the temp hits mid before I drive it and even though I get it to operating temp if I sit at a light to long she starts to bounce, down to almost stall around 500ish. Is this cause I have too much air? Or the alt is bad(though i keep a 14.8 charge.) And would a MSD6A box be good? Also I have no draws on the system like stereo systems, tv's, etc.
