Low humming sound (not at the start up)

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

My Ex has a low humming sound when it is at the ON position without the engine started. It has to be heard outside the car or have my window down. I found the noise seems to be come out under the engine but it disappear after I started my engine. Is it normal ? I am not sure if it is the same problem with most of the people having with their fuel pump. Please anyone could help.

If your fuel pump was never changed then that may be the culprit. I recommend that you take it into the dealership for them to diagnose it.

I am confused. There is nothing that will really cause the engine to make that noise when it is off.

Are you sure it is coming from under the engine?

Does it make the noise for more than 2 seconds? If so I would not suspect the fuel pump. There are so many electronic devices in the EX that any one of them could make a hum. I am curious if the Canadian model has anything different, I will look into this.

The noise was not there when in ACC mode, only came out after I press the push button again to ON mode. And the sound keep going until I turn off the car or start my engine. What I thought was related to electrical part. I will bring to the dealer after I get my window tinted.

That is the best idea there is no way to accurately diagnose this over the internet.

Good Luck keep up posted.
