New versa owner here, just getting to the bottom of my first tank of gas and the light just came on and it looks like its still a little ways away from the E. I just got out of a GMC Sierra and so i might just be used to that but it looks like the light is on early, is this common? and how many miles to i have when the light comes on? Thanks for the help! ps i would add a pic but it came on a while ago and its already more on the E.

I can't say down to the mile for you, but here's how my 2009 acts for me. I usually get about 320-340 miles on the tank before the light comes on. When I fill it up until the pump clicks off, it usually takes about 10.6 gallons. It's a 13.1 gallon tank, which will leave you ~2.5 gallons in the tank. Assuming you get 30 mpg, you have about 40-45 miles before it runs out of gas. It will stop sucking fuel with about 1.0 to 1.25 gallons in the tank.

How does that compare to your 2010?

ya so I filled it up last night and the dealership totally screwed my on the "full" tank of gas. the needle goes way past full, when completely full. I was proabably shorted 30-40 miles depending on the type of driving. I feel better about the miles per tank now. I ended up putting about 12.3 in the tank to fill it and had gone about 325 on the first not completely full tank. Big difference from the Sierra! Im loving it tho!.

Sounds like it hasn't changed much. The light in our 2007 comes on with between 2.5 and 3 gallons left, depending on how level the car is sitting.

I like that the car gives you ample warning with well over 50 miles of gas left. I've driven some cars that only alert you with fumes left in the tank.

On my 2007 Nissan versa

my fuel warning light comes on when my tank is half full.

I do not know the cause of this.

I am asking for possiblities

Is it the warning light sensor?
Is it a gas meter malfunction?
Has anyone been through this before.

Thank you very much

Could be the meter or the fuel tank indicator. How long has it been happening?

Here is the Fuel System section of the FSM.

Mine does that! I discovered I had a light when I was odd on a hill, and my gas needle showed under the E line. >.> But I don't run it to the E line ever, so I'd never known I had a light.
