I have a 1990 240sx and i want a turbo setup. I am only looking to make 225-250 horsepower. This is the list of parts I am considering so far. IAP Turbo Manifold, IAP BOV, a T25 or a T28 turbo with SR 370cc injectors. I want to know if i need a intercooler with this setup, and what electronics are needed, I have read about the Apexi SAFC 2 and the Greddy Emanage, do I need both of these?

not to be an *** but search around. You can probably garunteed find someone in your hp range and check out their set-up. Then go by what they have and buid your own. If it is low cost, I would go with ssa manifold off ebay turbo fron someone on the forum or junkyard 370 injectors from the same junkyard or forum and a safc. Really no need for e-manage yet just set your timing around 17-18degrees and you should be ok. Maybe someone will chime in on this. I just skipped the t25 step and went to t3/t04e. I am working on mine now. Just look around I know there are plenty people running sr turbos's but they really are smaller for ka. But you have to start somewhere.

Im doing the same thing you are. I am going with a T3 e series turbo (t3/t04e). With the bigger displacement you can spool a bigger turbo as quick as you would a t-25 or t-28 and create a little more horse at lower psi. I am trying to find a Garrett T3/T04E 4 bolt turbo Stage III Turbine wheel 0.82 A/R Turbine housing 0.63 A/R Compressor housing 0.50 Trim compressor wheel. All you need is to get that AFC 2 like you were talking about. If you want you can run the 370s but in my case I plan on uping the power in the future so I'm going with DSM 450cc injectors but to stay cheap I would go with 370cc. Then find a intercooler with a kit or find a good welder to fabricate your plumbing. Oh one last thing get a 3" exhaust with a 3" downpipe.I am still learning more, but I hope I could help push you in the right direction.

since its a noobfest in here I will add this just in case. If your motor is an 89-90 sohc motor than you can use 450cc dsm injectors in your fuel rail but not the 370cc sr20 ones since they are sidefeed. If you have a 91-98 240sx you cannot use DSM injectors unless you get a top feed fuel rail but you can use SR 370cc injectors. So from the looks of things, 95 kat needs to sell his injectors to the thread starter and get some sidefeeds, I could be wrong but Ive gathered this from your usernames, carry on.

To further continue with what virus said, you'll also need to modify your exsisting fuel rail to have the DSM injector's fit properly.

I know this only b/c my buddy turboed his 1990 SOHC and had to do this.

Any set up can be done on budget man. Search around and see what you can buy used for a good price. Take your time and do it right. My whole system was done for around 1500 ish Canadian but I did'nt take short cut on anything that is absolutely essential. Remember that.

I think the 87 RX7 came with a 460cc that more or less fits right into the SOHC fuel rail. I guess there is a little notch you file off.

sorry guys but my fuel rail is made for injectors that came in other cars like eclipses and supras. Not for msd and crap. Sorry 1990black240 I thought you knew that. I figured since he said he wanted to run 370cc he knew that they were side feed just because he knew what they were. Sorry but mine will work. It isnt together yet but they will fit. I DO know what I am buying.
