So i have been offered a SR block for 500 bucks minus fuel rails/ injectors, harness and turbo mani, the head has been build and it has new gaskets nearly all the way around as well as new timing chain and all that jazz, problem is the guy says it has low compression on Cylinder 3 caused by a cracked piston ring. hes claiming all it needs is a new ring and to have the wall honed. Does this seem acurate and is it a good price? Im just looking into getting something to maybe build and learn on then toss it into my 240.

Sounds accurate but that's about all you can guarantee. I don't see how it could be anything too bad. Only thing I have to say is finding all that extra crap can be a ***** if you are intending to actually use that engine.
