Lets say i have like $300 or $400 bucks and i want to sqeeze some power out of my 1990 240. I have already put a magnaflow cat back on it. I was thinking a new intake would be good, but i don't know if that would get significant power increases. Does anyone have any other suggestions or should i just go for the intake?

think light weight parts... pulley drive shaft flywheel

header would be good with your cat/back

an ecu tune is a good power:$ IMO but you need dyno or your own 300 dollar wideband...

but in all honesty you should cover your cap/rotor/plugs/wires/cts/o2 or make sure they are all working properly. On ka the cts alone was dynoed for a loss of like 28 whp......

oh yeah search this has been covered.

take off clutch fan, get electric one, get pulley kit. It's cheap and effective trust me. with the intake and exhaust also you should be alright

junkyard electric fan... I paid 15 bucks for mine

honestly though I have no fan on it and have been driving around for weeks in south florida with no issues... but No A/C either

same with my brother, he hasn't had a fan for over a year!

get these:

this is the exact header I bought form same seller..... GOOD QUALITY, comes with all plugs for AIC and EGR etc.... gaskets... stainless stell, nice tig welds..... you'll love it... $110 shipped! buy this one on this page specifically!!! you won't regret it.. some sellers have it for more money, or have another style that isn't as good in longevity due to its welds and has no plugs!

Next up we have a crank pulley for 65 bucks!

then I would gut out your cat!

then I would buy this for your header install and ditch the EGR crapola

8.75 shipped! I bought this today from same seller

then for 18 bucks get a filter and MAF adapter, I have one simlar my MAF adapter doesn't match up perfectly but if you play around with its positioning it will work...........

He has a 90 so the maf adapter wont work right because of the sensor that bolts into the air box. It can be rigged but it makes your car idle rough.

hey find me a better deal on a header for a SOHC, in fact besides EBAY.. the only place you can buy one is @ summitracing and its a Pacesetter 2 piece leakohaulic unit..........

plus 260 for a ceramic or 110 for a stainless.... you make the call

I'd rather save the extra 150 for tires or diamond ring for the ole lady

I've gotten a lot of parts off ebay, and a lot of them are better quality then stuff I paid 5x as much for......... to each their own tho

like I said in another thread... too many 240sx ho's are caught up in designer names like teenage fashion girlies.......

hey its your money lol

look manget the panties unbunched I just found humor in it. I've bought a ton of shyt from eghey, all work, with modifications. I have had a few pieces work perfect though. I probably have more ebay stuff than yourself, just not linking people to the bay(frownd upon here it seems).

manifold,d/p,rucas,bumper,headlights,short shifter,my rear shocks, bov, intake and filter,muffler.....I could care less what brand you buy for your car, I already have an old lady and a kid so I cant always afford the baller ish, but my car is no slouch and everything from ebay has held up to some adverse conditions. You know those ssac rucas everyone is like "oh no" about I tried them out for myself, and you know what they hold up to my daily driving and drifting(yes daily sun, rain, snow, hail I dont give a ****) with a welded diff(beats the **** out of suspension parts ) with about 210whp and youve seen florida roads is what they look like......

just try to keep the ebay links down to a min..

hey I don't care if someone starts to flame me for ebay links, I'm gonna write back about what they say... everyone has an opinion

out of curiousity... how do you like your RUCA's? I might buy some ebay ones myself........

it just seems too many people are like, "oh I wouldn't touch that" but they are just going by what someone else flamed about or don't even have any experience with it.. just voicing an ill informed opinion...

I hate that stuff

my 100 dollar header looks better then 600 dollar v8 headers my brother has on his truck... and they are supposedly the best ones made!

my only point about posting this stuff is, hey look at this cheap stuff you can buy with your limmited budget, people flame it all day long but I have it all and it is nice quality and works good.... I just want to let them hear it from someone who actually uses it . Not some JDM fanboy who's never even touched one of the parts

Thanks to the guys who actually tried and posted their opinion on the eBay stuff. I am sure I am not alone in saying that I have often wondered how they no-name eBay brands perform. Good to know that they are not all bad.

Alot of ebay parts all good, you just have to know what to trust and what not to. Even I have ssauto exhaust on my s14, it sounds good, fits good, has a resonator and its stainless. I had to tweak it a little to fit my kouki rear bumper but it and did I mention its stainless! Plus I only paid 150 for it when it first came out. People have had great luck out of ebay intercoolers and knock off wastegates if you use the tial springs in them. I wouldn't skimp on a turbo though.
